One style I have always loved is ‘preppy’. Think private college Ivy Leaguers, football games, getting your hair messed up behind the tennis bleachers, flamingoes, cucumber sandwiches…that kind of thing. Ok you got me, I threw in the flamingoes for shits n giggles. But on a serious note, to me preppy exudes such a rich palette of colours; navy, ruby, gold, deep purple, and emeralds intertwined in stripes, crests, blazers, crisp shirts, tailored pants, sweaters, pleated skirts, and your most favourite wanky boat shoes. Oh and if you’re not carrying the biggest overnighter bag you can find, save yourself now. Canvas by day, leather by night…either-or, as long as its rolling emblems – big ones. I’m stoked to see that this style is making a bit of a comeback (again) and the best thing about it, is that it is completely gender neutral. All boys look good in this style, not just the la-la-ladies!
The folks at Insight have killed this look in their current Mens Collection. Their interpretation equals preppy meets street. No high fashion to be seen here lovers. Just good ol’ college drop-outs. Genius.
